P1 Children go Potty for Painting

Budding young artists from Primary 1 brought a splash of colour to their classrooms by taking part in Marie Curie Cancer Care’s national Paint Your Mini Pot Day, part of the charity’s Mini Pots of Care fundraising initiative which is run in partnership with Yellow Pages.

More than 335,000 children across the UK were given a mini pot and daffodil bulb to plant and nurture last autumn to reflect the care provided by Marie Curie Nurses to people with terminal cancer and other illnesses. The children decorated their recently bloomed pots and took them home to someone they care about in return for a small donation to the charity.
The children really enjoyed taking care of their daffodil bulbs throughout winter and have had a great time painting their pots. By taking part in this simple and fun activity, P1 has been learning about the fantastic work of the Marie Curie Nurses and has raised a total of £658.13 for the charity.

Yellow Pages’ support for Mini Pots of Care ensures that all money raised goes directly to the Marie Curie Nursing service to provide more free care for patients in their own homes or in one of the charity’s hospices.
