Cycling Proficiency

The cycling proficiency scheme in N.Ireland has been operating for over 30 years and more than 300,000 children have been trained and tested.
Mrs Graham is in charge of the cycling proficiency scheme which is offered to Primary Seven children.
This training provides

1. Teaching of the essential basic skills to cope with cycling on today's roads.
2. A foundation of road craft skills.
3. Knowledge which will be valuable in later life.
4. Contribution to children's general health.

Children are tested on both practical and theory elements and on successful completion each child is awarded a certificate which can be incorporated into their Record of Achievement.
