We are all very proud of our school and our experienced staff are committed to delivering high quality education to all our children. The aim in this school is to provide our pupils with a curriculum which is broad and balanced and supports their physical, emotional, moral and social development. We believe our children feel happy and safe within their school environment. We aim to provide a secure and caring environment and encourage each individual child to strive to do their best, in their education, their sports, their music and all their other activities. Our main aim is to maximise each child's potential.
Music
is given a high priority in our school. We have two choirs and and an
orchestra who have won many prestigious competitions over the past decade.
The senior choir, under the direction of Mr. Ford and Mrs. Penney, earned
the title of "UTV School Choir of the Year" in 2003. This
was a tremendous achievement by our pupils and music teachers and we
are all still very proud of them. In 2010 we were shortlisted in the
final 6 choirs for the BBC School Choir of the Year
which included schools from Northern Ireland, England, Scotland and
Wales. This was another excellent achievement. Our orchestra is directed
by Mrs. Susan Gillan. We also have three peripatetic music teachers
who offer tuition on stringed, woodwind and brass instruments. Over
the last few years, both choirs and the orchestra have won many awards
in the local Ballyclare Music Festival, Carrickfergus Music Festival
and Larne Music Festival. Within
