Hello everyone. Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. I am delighted to share with you a little of what makes Fairview Primary School so special.  My name is Mr McAllister and I have the honour of leading this wonderful school.

A visit to Fairview is the best way to find out about what we have to offer, but between this website and our Facebook page, I hope you can get a sense of what life could be like for your little one over their seven years with us. We are a family in Fairview and although a large school, every single pupil matters.

I am passionate about this school – I am from Ballyclare, I went to Fairview as a pupil, I have been a teacher in Fairview since I qualified, I served as Vice Principal here and now I have the great honour of serving as Principal – that’s over 30 years here as pupil and staff member – and there is nowhere I would rather be! 

In Fairview, we want to INSPIRE our pupils to be the best they can be. Our Environmental Garden, along with the extensive outdoor learning which takes place, gives us a unique opportunity to do this!  You will not find another school with grounds so well developed into a learning environment and so widely used.

We will SUPPORT our pupils to grow as individuals, be it academically, pastorally, in sport, musically or through leadership roles. What you will see, right from P1, is a wealth of opportunities for all our pupils.

We are committed to our local community in Ballyclare and take every opportunity to share in what is going on in the town, including our innovative Ballyclare History Trail around the school grounds and links with local churches and groups. Through the support we offer, we have happy, contented pupils who embrace a vibrant school life rooted in a deep Christian ethos!

There is no doubt that as we inspire our pupils and put the correct support in place, they will ACHIEVE great things. Academically, our children are pushed and challenged to maximise their ability. But school and success is more than academics. Success might be playing for a school team, performing on stage, singing in the choir or representing their peers on a student body such as our Fairview Ambassadors.

In our last Inspection, it was noted that it was ‘rare’ to find a school with quite so many achievements.  These achievements cover areas such as ECO Schools, ICT, Forest Schools, Science, Music, Active Travel, Sports and a commitment to languages. We were delighted to win a prestigious UK wide TES award recently for our pastoral care in school.
