Online Safety

In an increasingly digital world, we believe that empowering our pupils to be safe, responsible, and kind online is just as important as their physical safety. At Fairview Primary School, online safety is woven into the fabric of our daily routines. Our commitment to excellence in this area has earned us formal recognition having achieved the Digital School’s Award which reflects our dedication to staying at the forefront of digital safeguarding. We take immense pride in fostering an environment where children feel confident to explore the wonders of the internet while possessing the critical thinking skills to identify and manage risks effectively.

Our curriculum is dynamic and evidence-based, ensuring that every class from P1 to P7 engages in age-appropriate safety activities throughout the academic year. We have worked closely with the Education Authority on pioneering projects and have won competitions which showcased our work in this area. We celebrate Safer Internet Day annually with a whole-school emphasis on promoting good online behaviours with all pupils. To ensure our community remains "digitally streetwise," both our pupils and staff have recently completed the Safer Schools NI Digital Proficiency Course. This shared journey of learning ensures that our teachers are expert guides and our pupils are resilient digital citizens, committed to maintaining positive online behaviours both in school and at home.
